Balancing Online and Offline. Use the Force?
With the web evolving so fast, I truly believe that things are going to become more digital than we can imagine right this second. Maybe a mix of both Star Wars and Star Trek worlds, who knows? We all want things to work. Being a goal, or just a broom that picks up all the dust.
It’s been a huge transition for me. I’ve lived on the northern end of the United States (Wisconsin)...

OH WOW. OH WOW. OH WOW.
– The final words of Steve Jobs as told by his sister, Mona Simpson in her amazing eulogy which she decided to publish.
Since she gave this speech at the memorial service, there had been whispers about the words floating around. But they’re even better in full context. Read the entire piece.

Word of Mouth For Real
This is more of a step-by-step process.
Walk into a venue without a plan.
Introduce yourself to the owner/manager
After chatting, you make an offer.
Accepts and hands you an endorsed check with no contract.
Complete the task.
Follow up.
End Result: “I’m very pleased, and you even waited to cash the check until you were done”.
Thank You + Handshake.

Location-based...Battery Life?
Like many new products and services, battery life can be an initial problem. The new iPhone 4S and iOS 5 revolve around many location services. Native functions such as time zone, cell network search, and compass calibration all use location besides downloaded applications.
I still have the iPhone 4, and haven’t suffered anything noticeable. The only purple indicator was Foursquare....

Offline Customer Service.
Leaving names and associations aside, today is all about customer service. Where’s the garlic bread? Which television does 3D? It’s a light switch that turns on.
One gentleman came up to me and asked if he had enough money to buy milk. I wasn’t sure how much the milk was, so we walked over to the dairy department. I asked him what type of milk he preferred, and started up...

My Head is a Concert. How About Yours?
I think everyone gets a song in their head stuck all day sometimes, but what about the next day? or…an entire week?
It’s really no different than a gym playlist. You can listen to it for a half hour, hour, or more if a gym rat. If a playlist isn’t motivating, then why are you listening to it?
Conclusion: Switch it up all the time to keep things fresh. At the gym, grocery...

Sparrow 1.3 takes an (unexpected) break →
Sparrow 1.3 was released this morning but displayed unexpected bugs.
The issue was quickly identified and fixed but due to the Mac App Store process, we were not able to push the new update to you as fast as we wanted to.
We decided to pull Sparrow 1.3 from the Mac App Store until Sparrow 1.3.1…

Calling People is Irrelevant Now.
Rolling off the video I posted earlier
Within the last few days. Google and Facebook have pretty much stripped the meaning of picking up the phone and calling someone. I remember when Skype was roughly version 0.3 and thought it was the coolest thing. Usually when I think something is hot, I’ll show it off to people right away.
Typically, I feel like I’m mostly waving things in...
